Refer Someone

Referring someone in Nottingham

Sharewear currently has 220 referral partners across Nottinghamshire. If you would like your organisation to become a referral partner, please email info@sharewearclothingscheme.org for an electronic copy of our blank referral voucher that can be used for any individual or family needing clothing support.

Support workers who already have our referral vouchers, please print and complete a copy with the service user and provide them with this physical copy. They are then able to attend our Nottingham Access Centre and have the relevant details to find our centre. Please advise them to bring the voucher with them. There is no need to book an appointment. Our open hours are drop-in sessions.

In the event a service user would not be able to visit our Access Centre themselves we offer a collection option. A completed electronic copy of the referral voucher, including as much detail as possible regarding the clothing items and sizes needed, must be emailed to info@sharewearclothingscheme.org. We will then arrange a collection date and time for our volunteer team to prepare the order for. When collecting an order please arrive with the name of the service user being collected on behalf of.

Attending our Nottingham Access Centre

41-43 Mansfield Road, Daybrook, NG5 6BB

Open hours Wednesday and Friday 10:30-2:00

If you have received a referral voucher our friendly and supportive team look forward to meeting you. Our drop-in sessions run on Wednesdays and Fridays 10:30-2:00 with no appointment needed. Please note we cannot allow children under the age of 11 into our centre due to health and safety restrictions. Please remember to bring your voucher with you when you attend. If you have attended our centre in the past you will be recorded in our system and will not need to obtain a new voucher. Please do not attend within three months of your last attend except in the case of clothing needs changing, such as a child outgrowing their current size.

We can be found one door along from the corner of Mansfield Road and Sherbrook Road. Please be sure to use postcode NG5 6BB when navigating to our centre as online maps often automatically select our National Processing and Distribution Centre, which is at a different location and not where clothing can be accessed.

Outreach to Sheffield and South Yorkshire

Sharewear Sheffield Facebook

In 2021 our team at Sharewear Sheffield supported 3000 local people in their first year of operations. Due to the landlord’s premature eviction from our premises for demolition and resulting lack of renewal of funding, our Sheffield centre closed in December 2021. Since then we have been providing outreach deliveries to organisations across Sheffield and South Yorkshire who need clothing support for their own service users. Using our detailed outreach order form, organisations and constituted groups can receive a monthly delivery of quality checked, sized and categorized clothing which they can then make available to their own service users.

Email our Outreach co-ordinator for more details on jo@sharewearclothingscheme.org

We’d prefer to replace our outreach delivery system by empowering communities to save clothes from landfill and offer them to people who need them locally, through our Community Sharewear franchise offer. See Community Sharewear for more details.

Outreach to the West Midlands

Birmingham Community Sharewear Socials

As of September 2022 we are providing outreach deliveries to organisations across Birmingham and the West Midlands who need clothing support for their own service users. Using our detailed outreach order form, organisations and constituted groups can receive a monthly delivery of quality checked, sized and categorized clothing which they can then make available to their own service users.

Email our Outreach co-ordinator for more details on jo@sharewearclothingscheme.org

We’d prefer to replace our outreach delivery system by empowering communities to save clothes from landfill and offer them to people who need them locally through our Community Sharewear franchise offer. See Community Sharewear for more details.

Outreach to North London

Since April 2021 we’ve been providing outreach deliveries to organisations across North London who need clothing support for their own service users, by collaborating with London’s Community Kitchen, who act as a conduit to this area. Whilst in London we can also potentially make deliveries to organisations and constituted groups who need can place detailed orders for quality checked, sized and categorized clothing which they can then make available to their own service users.

Outreach to Greater Manchester

Manchester Community Sharewear Socials

We’re hoping to work with other organisations to bring our first Community Sharewear Franchise to Greater Manchester. You can join the group of people trying to bring the Right to Clothing to Manchester by following our dedicated social media channels.

Community Franchise Network

We’re frequently approached by organisations and individuals around the country who need to access free-of-charge clothing for those they support. With over 300,000 tonnes of clothing going to waste in the UK per year, there’s no need for anyone not to be able to access their Right to Clothing. But We need YOUR help to bring free clothing support to those who need it in your own communities.

Our franchise network is designed to effectively bring even more of the UK’s unwanted, unworn, unsold or discarded clothing – of as-new and brand new quality– to those who most need it. By working with faith groups, community organisations and groups, we hope to empower communities to create full access to the Right to Clothing locally.

When you join our Community Sharewear franchise network you will receive

  • Full training and ongoing support from Sharewear’s National Lead and our Regional employees
  • An operating manual/access to our operating portal
  • Template website tailored to your own Community Sharewear
  • Branding artwork (including leaflets, banners, etc.)
  • Your own Sharewear domain email account
  • Your own Sharewear Facebook page
  • Data processing support
  • Substandard clothing collection service
  • Access to fashion industry relationships formed nationally by Sharewear Clothing Scheme, providing brand new high street name clothing.
  • Rails, equipment and start up stock (with subsequent regular stock deliveries until your own clothes donor network becomes more established)
  • Potential access to employability programmes secured by Sharewear Clothing Scheme
  • Support with regional grant applications

Our franchise fee is £1200 , with a small annual renewal fee to be applied from your own local fundraising. This contribution helps towards the costs of providing you with all of the above.
