Are you looking for a New Year’s Resolution that will last for longer than January? Are you looking for a worthwhile use for your hard-earned cash? Sharewear Clothing Scheme needs your ongoing support. In 2015 we clothed 475 people — four times more people than in 2014. We had four times more volunteers, four times more users and four times more donations; but still the same amount of space to work in!! We are urgently seeking new premises and need help to secure some. Can you be a part of our “Longer than January” campaign? We need people who are willing to create a standing order for a minimum of £5.00 per month to or funds. The more people who do this, the more regular monthly income we will have to pay rent on premises large enough for our purposes. In 2016 our figures look set to rise still further, and our expansion into making outreach deliveries and supporting charities for the homeless means we need even more space. Remember, we are the only charity in Nottingham which provides clothes from head to toe and bedding for every age-group in an organised, regular and structured way using a referral system, so that we reach the families in the most need. The entire new wardrobe of clothes we are able to provide helps to transform the lives of Nottingham people who are sick, rehabilitating offenders and addicts, asylum seekers and refugees, those having benefits sanctioned or cut, those on incredibly low income, victims of loan sharks, victims of crime, victims of abuse and even the street homeless. To continue to do this effectively throughout 2016 and beyond we desperately need funds to rent a new place. Can you help? Please email Louise Cooke on sharewearclothingscheme@gmail.com if you are willing to take out a standing order. Perhaps you can’t manage it but know someone who can? Please pass this information on to them. Or maybe you can help in more practical ways by becoming a volunteer, a clothes donor and collector, or trying to find us new premises. You could share in Sharewear’s achievements beyond January and well into the future.
