Joining the Response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis

Today at Sharewear a small team began to sort out, ready for the big move in only two weeks time! In addition to this we provided bedding for six homeless women, supported a sick person, and had a visit from a support worker employed by Gedling Borough Council. She had come on behalf of a Syrian family of six, placed in Nottingham recently. Thanks, as always, to the generosity of our clothes donors, we were able to provide as-new coats for the four children, clothes and shoes for the whole family, as well as a massive amount of warm bedding and much-needed towels. We are sure that this will not be the only Syrian family we end up supporting, and hope that this is only the beginning of Sharewear being a formal part of the organised response in Nottingham to the Syrian refugee crisis. We are also looking forward to starting to work more closely with a wide variety of support workers from Gedling Borough Council.
