Local Councillor Asks Prime Minister to Recognise Our Work

Today our CEO Louise Cooke received a letter from the Prime Minister, highlighting her as a Point of Light, after Stapleford North Councillor Richard McRae had written to the PM about her work at Sharewear. Of Course, there are 40 of us voluntarily working at Sharewear so those volunteers at the session this afternoon were thrilled to share in the good news. These comprised founding members, brand new recruits, asylum seekers and Christ The King Year 12 students. The flip side of the story is that the lady taking the photo was someone we were helping with clothes today, and not long after this photo was taken she almost passed out from sheer hunger. After giving first aid we were able to take her to the nearest food bank as she was too weak to use transport. And volunteer Alison saw that she got safely home with the clothes and the food the generous people of Nottingham had supplied her with this afternoon.
