Volunteer Summer Social funded by Nottingham Together

We are very pleased to announce that this year Nottingham Together are funding our Volunteer Summer Social, which we will be holding again on Saturday 16th June from 3pm at Arnold Carnival. The date is just before Refugee Week starts, and a week before the Great Get Together to celebrate that we have More in Common. One third of our volunteer team are asylum seekers and refugees and, without their dedicated weekly hours we simply couldn’t function during the peak British holiday season. In addition to this, our team is also so diverse that we have young people, people with additional needs, ex-offenders, recovering addicts, jobseekers, Christians, Muslims and people who don’t profess a faith all working happily side by side each week as a true family.

This social is a celebration of our unity in diversity. If you are one of our volunteers please confirm whether or not you can make it and let us know about any dietary requirements. This social is also for the volunteers who work hard at Sherwood Methodist Church and St Andrews, looking after our clothing donations, and to the volunteers of New Cross Community Church Sutton-in-Ashfield who run our Ashfield and Mansfield Children’s Referral Centre. Sharewear Schools partners key staff are also welcome. Get in touch. #TeamSharewear #MoreInCommon #RefugeeWeek#UnityInDiversity #UKClothingPoverty
