A bumper crowd at our coffee morning today helped to raise £200 for our funds! The response to our appeal for cakes was overwhelming, with bakers delivering from as far afield as Huthwaite, and offerings from our Facebook supporters and members of Free Cakes for Kids. The event was well supported by the local community, the URC congregation, our Facebook supporters, the Bulwell Forest councillors and members of Facebook group Recycle and Free plus their children. Thanks to the volunteers, Janet, John and Karen who gave their time to help as they are unable to volunteer at our Sharewear sessions.
Bring your friends along for a few bargains and help us raise funds. See you there!

What a great vibe there was this afternoon at the Forest Fields free community event. At our stall we clothed 32 people, mostly children, and in particular helped lots of families prepare for summer term with uniform items. As well as this we made connections with organisations interested in becoming referral agencies, outreach partners or distribution points, including NG7, Last Orders and Sherwood Rise Residents Association. It was great to meet the people behind Asian Women’s Project, who have already become our first official distribution point in that area of Nottingham. Our clothes are distributed at their centre on Noel Street during their Tuesday coffee mornings. Carole Ann Jones, one of the Berridge ward councillors also had the opportunity to find out more about our service. The delicious free home made Asian, Carribean and European food was the icing on the cake!
You don’t have to be a ‘Star Baker’ to help us out at Sharewear. We need some yummy cakes, large and small, to sell at our Community Coffee Morning Saturday 19th March at the United Reformed Church, Brooklyn Road, Bulwell 10.30 — 12.30. As well as selling cakes for breakfast at the event we also want to sell cakes for people to take away for their friends and family who can’t make the event. So, can’t make it down yourself? Why not help us out with a cake? If you can make it, please bring a friend, as there will be some amazing new and nearly new items for sale including: hand-made greetings cards, household goods, gifts, toys, books and games. All proceeds will go to the continued improvement and expansion of our service so we can help even more local people in crisis. In just 9 Fridays of 2016 we have already clothed 160 people! Please, if you can, help us to go on achieving this by baking a cake or bringing friends along to the event to browse our selection of things for sale. Hope to see you there! Please complete the contact form below if you can contribute a cake, or get in touch in whatever way you are usually in contact with us. Thank you!
